XBlaze
The XBlaze series is a duology of visual novels based on the Blazblue series of games by Toshimichi Mori and published by Arc System Works. When Touya Kagari, an ordinary highschooler, gets attacked by a bizarre-acting man on his way home from school, he gets thrown into the strange world of the underground happenings of Shin Yokozaki City. Strange people start visiting his home and monitoring him, he learns about a disease infecting the people of the town and causing them to behave in aggressive ways, and he has a chance to learn the truth about what happened in a disaster that caused almost everyone in a research facility to disappear. The aftermath of this disaster was where he was found as a young child, and is the only memories of his past that he has.You can buy the games on Steam for ~40 dollars USD all together. Of course! Es's character was very much stripped down to the bare minimum of 'stoic' and 'pudding lover' in CF and BBTAG, which is really unfortunate for those who have only been able to learn about her through those games. I personally recommend playing the XBlaze series to learn more, but to keep it simple I'll put her TOi bio here:"An anti-ability warrior (aka Sleipnir) attached to the Mitsurugi Agency. Outside of combat operations, she is shockingly naive and ignorant about the world around her. She rarely speaks or shows her emotions. In addition to her fighting prowess, she can also detect Discover Calls. She wields the Legacy Weapon, Murakumo, in battle. Ordered to protect Touya Kagari, bu Souichiro Unomaru, Es enrolled as a student at Hakuou North Academy and has moved into the Himezuru residence. A homunculus made by Unomaru, if she doesn't get special care every two days, her condition begins to worsen. If she stops functioning, her body is designed to rapidly disintegrate."
